Building project – BYOXY and our Indonesian partner BambooU have used BYOXY coated cottons as a beautiful and low-cost waterproof roofing material. This meditation room and an adjacent electrical room were recently constructed in Bali using BYOXY for fabric coating and also for foundations using BYOXY, sand & aggregate instead of cement.
The benefits of using VOC (odour) free, non-toxic bio-epoxy resin, made from renewable resources, instead of BPA based epoxy resins and one of the world’s most overly used and green-house gas emitting commodities; Cement.
The use of BYOXY coated membrane provided a low-cost and aesthetically pleasing solution for the roof of the meditation room. The natural, beige color of the cottons provided a warm and inviting atmosphere, while the BYOXY coating ensured that the roof was completely waterproof. The electrical room, which required a more utilitarian approach, was also constructed using BYOXY coated membrane, providing a durable and waterproof solution.
In addition to the use of BYOXY coated membrane for the roofing material, BYOXY was also used for the foundations of the buildings. Instead of using cement, which is one of the world’s most overly used and greenhouse gas-emitting commodities, BYOXY was used along with bamboo and aggregate to create a sturdy foundation. This reduced the carbon footprint of the project while also providing a more sustainable and eco-friendly solution.
One of the most significant benefits of using BYOXY’s Bio-Resin solution is that it is VOC-free and non-toxic, making it a safer alternative to traditional construction materials. The bio-epoxy resin is made from renewable resources and does not contain BPA-based epoxy resins, which are known to be harmful to the environment.
